Pregnancy after Tubal Ligation?

Question for those that had tubal ligation done under pregnancy medicaid in georgia?

  • ok i had my biweekly appt today and i asked the midwife how the scheduling for tubal works since i know if c section happens they do it then other wise you have to come back. well i was informed it would be 8 weeks after birth they would schedule me. well heres where im lost. i chose wellcare as my plan under medicaid and wellcare told me im only covered for 6 weeks after birth for my 6 week check up. now maybe medicaid itselt covers the tubal? i would try and call them up but i never have any luck on the phone with people specially since on certain things ive been told different things each time i called so thats why im asking here for those that got a tubal done under the medicaid here in georgia.

  • Answer:

I'm not in Georgia, but in Minnesota and I was on medicaid. I had my baby Wednesday, tubal on Thursday and went home on Friday. Not sure what the difference is in the state rules, so sorry I can't help you there, but the only rule I had to "follow" was that the papers for the tubal had to be signed at least 30 days prior to the surgery and sent to the state. Maybe talk to your Dr. again and see if they can do it right away for you since you'll already be in the hospital.
