How can I organize cot sheets at a daycare?

How to label/organize daycare items?

  • Hi yahoo answerers, my baby is starting daycare next month and I have two quick questions: 1) Please read the statement from their welcome letter. How should I label everything (I figured out how to label bottles (reusable plastic label bands)...how should I label change clothes and bed sheets? using sticky labels seems pretty wasteful...any reusable way) "[Bring ] Bottles (with the current date), diapers, wipes, diaper creams and powders, food (no glass permitted), bibs, bedding sheets for each school day and two sets of extra clothing. Please label EVERYTHING with first and last name." 2) What is the most common way of carrying all these to daycare, in a gym bag?

    For clothing and sheets, you can write the name on the tag. For wipes, I would just bring a box of wipes with the name written in permanent marker on the box. Put the diapers, powder & cream in a ziploc bag with the babies name on the bag. A gym bag or diaper bag would be the best way to carry them

This question really reminds me of my sister who really went nuts when her first baby started daycare. Everyone was running around trying to get things right helping her prepare and it was fun. I remember her using markers on the cloth tags and plastic labels neatly written. I think my mom wanted her to go for a gym bag but she went for a diaper bag instead, it was Vera Bradley, I remember it because my girlfriend gave it to her as a gift. Bah memories!

Would it be possible to sew/embroider your name onto the change clothes and bed sheets, or at least pin on a fabric swatch with your name on it? I've seen people either use a child's backpack or a diaper bag, or something that looks like a gym bag.

I'd use permanent marker - on the packaging where relevant, and on the labels of the sheets and clothes. Why does it need to be reusable?
