What's the proper photographic term?

Whats up with the term Baby Daddy?

  • like seriously... be honest does anyone else just get annoyed when they hear this? I think it just makes the person saying it sound really uneducated. One of my good friends always refers to her boyfriend as her baby daddy. She has two kids with him. She thinks it makes her sound pretty darn cool when she says it too. I just, gah, why can't people talk normal instead of like the girls who show up on maury to get a DNA test. Whats up with this term anyways? Why do people always use it? If I offend you.. I honestly don't give a fck. so if you're going to answer just to tell me your offended don't bother, I definetly will not lose any sleep over it. hollyy

I have to say I totally agree with you. It is very annoying. I would definitely hate to be called a baby mama so i'm not going to go around and say baby daddy. And thank you I'm so glad I'm not the only annoyed with that.

Around where I live the term BABY DADDY means hes the father of your child or around here its children because they usually have more than one, BUT here it means your a dad of a child but your not with the moms anymore or never were

I'd honestly never even heard the term until the movie "Baby Mama" came out. There was one scene where the doorman to her building made fun of Tina Fey and said her "baby mama was coming" (or something like that). Ever since then everyone and their brother has been using "baby mama" and "baby daddy" like it makes them sound cool and "gangsta".

ive never called my boyfriend/fiance my babys daddy! i just call him my partner and when i marry him this september he'll be my husband who i have a daughter with lol baby daddy - even if we wernt together i wouldnt call him that, childs father would sound much better

I can't stand this term either. To me it sounds so ignorant and trashy. "My child's father" just sounds so much classier and more respectable than "Baby daddy"

Lol, it makes them sound like they are from the 'hood. Seriously, if you are trying not to be stereotyped, using the phrase baby daddy is a no-no.

another account again!

where i live its only the trashy or ghetto girls who use this phrase lol.. and girls who never had a relationship with their "baby daddy" , so they cant say boyfriend or even ex boyfriend.. because neither of those apply to them. i dont know why they dont say "my sons/daughters dad." or "emmas dad" *i used the name emma because its a common name*

I agree with you it sounds very uneducated. The grammar is terrible and it does sound like trashy talk show speech. I don't know how it started, but I can only imagine it came from people who never learned to speak properly in the first place.
