How to get rid of a swollen eye due to a cut?

My son has a cut very near to his eye and it's get swollen. What should I do? It's just happen.?

when i was little i gashed my face open not even a centermeter away from my left eye..it was quarter inch deep and it didnt stop bleeding i needed 12 stitches and almost went blind...if i was you i would stop worrying about what everyone else thinks...my mom was down the block at her friends house..and got up and took off rushing me to the hospital..im sure you should do the same...it could be infected and he could even go blind it that gets real bad..GO NOW!

Hopefully you would have put ice on it immediately. If it's an open cut, it might need stitches. Recommendation would be NOT to ask yahoo people - take your kid to the emergency room!
