What's something silly you've done for your baby .. that you don't think anyone else has done?

LOL. I've done a lot of silly things for my son, but I think this one might be *original* .. =] OK, my 16 month old son LOVES cell phones. My husband bought him 2 kid cell phones (toy cell phones, one is Elmo and one is plain silver and plays music.) THAT wasn't good enough, he still wants ours. SO, my husband and I both got new cell phones not too long ago .. I took one of our old cell phones (that is no longer activated) and charged the battery FULL and deleted all the old phone numbers and call logs, and replaced them with silly phone numbers (Elmo, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, etc.) .. then I took a picture of Winnie the Pooh and made that the Screensaver on the phone. Our son LOVES it. He thinks he has has a REAL cell phone now (one that we actually use) so he's not constantly taking ours =] Anyone else done something totally silly like that for their baby? (like taking the extra time to add those pointless phone numbers, lol.) 10 PTS. to MOST CREATIVE! =]

Answer:
My husband and I just got new cell phones and I gave my old cell phone to my 7 month old daughter. My husband wiped the phone clean and put on the front of the phone "Maddie's Phone". I like your idea of adding silly phone numbers and am going to do that too. Maddie also LOVEs tags. She plays with the tags on all her toys. Someone on Yahoo answers told me about a company that makes tag toys. I liked the tag blanket they had but thought it was too expensive so last week I decided to make my own tag blanket. I found two receiving blankets that I could spare and went out and bought different colors of ribbons. I spent the weekend sewing tabs (folded ribbons) to the receiving blankets to make her own taggie blanket. I tried to space the colors nicely apart and added strings of yard to the four corners. I am not a sewing type of person and would only go through the trouble of sewing all these little pieces for my DD. She loves the blanket and when I gave it to her she instantly started playing with the tags.

Haha! i have done that for both of my kids-lol! I think the most extreme i have done was have their dad call them and pretend he was santa. She really thought she was talking to him. It made it easy to know what she asked santa for Chirstmas-lol! Every once in a while she says she wants to call santa so i pick up the phone and call her dad and say "Hello, Santa Clause? Miss Desiree would like to talk to you again...." She loves it! Another time was when my 4 yr old daughter wanted to bake a cake all by herself. I told her i had to help but she could put what ever she wanted in it. She had to put sprinkles, chocolate chipis, pieces of cookies, and a few pieces of Halloween candy. That was the worst cake i have ever eaten. I had to pretend it was so good to make her happy. When she got back home for school it was gone and asked where it was. I told her i ate all of it and it was in my tummy.

Well this might not be silly, but my 6 mo son LOVES our screen saver. So my husband had old computer parts stashed away in our closet so he put together a computer that worked well enough to run a screen saver and we bought the right cords to hook it up to our tv, so now he will sit there/lay there and just watch the ball bouncing around, while he plays with his toes...lol

Man, I don't have anything to add right now, but I have to say you're idea was so awesome!! It makes me want to do the same. Since he's always so interested in my cell phone.

Today, while at Walmart, my daughter found two dog chew toys that she LOVED. One is a stuffed bear, and the other a weird blue-colored mouse. So, now my daughter is running around with her new dog toys....LOL. When I got up to the check-out, the cashier asked what kind of dog I had....LOL. Her look on her face when I said "well, I have dogs, but these will belong to my daughter..." * I swear, they look like regular stuffed animals though...except for the sqeeky toy in them...LOL.

that was my plan when i got a new phone lol its cute you added his own contacts but word to the wise, i'm almost positive that even phones where the service is shut off they can still call 911 so just keep an eye out for that

Thats really cute. Mine isnt too creative but I find myself dancing and singing crazy just to get my baby to laugh, I would never do that for any one else. My husband gets a good laugh at it also.

Wow, nice one Mommy. We actually did something similar yesterday. We got new home phones and tv remote and gave the old ones to Aaron. I am saving all our old electronics for a "space ship" that I am going to make when Aaron gets older.
What?
I cant really think of anything super different but I decorated his room with x-mas lights.
I do lots of silly things for my baby, but I'm sure most of them have been done by mommies before. On a side note, I wouldn't let my son play with a real cell phone. They have real batteries in them, and small parts and my boy sticks everything in his mouth (as do most kids). I just don't think it's a safe toy.
