What Will My Baby Look Like?

What will my baby look like?

  • Of course that the baby is healthies is the main concern but I am also curious to know what my baby will look like because my husband and I have a unique mix. I know this will only be a guess but what do you think mybaby will look like? I have naturally dirty blonde/light brown hair and blue eyes with very pale skin and a few freckles. I am irish, german, and italian. My husband is half puerto rican and half very light skinned african american. He has an olive complexion with hazel eyes and black hair. If you had tog uess what do you think? Do you think its almost gauranteed my baby will atleast have a tan since i dont?

It's impossible to tell, because some looks might be hidden in your and your husband's genes.

It'll take the strongest genes from each parent. If your husband has brown eyes, there's a 1 in 4 chance the baby'll have blue eyes and a 3 in 4 chance it'll have brown eyes. Work it out like that.

Really it depends on how the genes both regressive and dominant mixed when the genetic make up was being decided. Your baby will probably have characteristics from both you and your husband. Maybe with a twist thrown in.

It's totally normal to wonder what your child will look like, and to be honest, you won't really know until you go in for ultrasounds. They are very accurate nowadays and can clearly show your baby's features. As for your baby's skin, I think you'll just have to wait until it is born, and remember that eye color, hair color, and complexion can all change. Congratulations! P.S. When my sister was pregnant, she found out the baby's sex and although that made shopping easier, she said it was like having the best suprise party ever ruined. If you don't know yet, you might want to think about not finding out until the baby is born--she and I both think it's more fun that way.

Usually darker skin and eye color are dominant when it comes to genetics. I think there is a very good chance your child will have a tan or olive complexion with dark eyes. You mentioned you have Italian in your heritage so this may add to the mix. Genetics is never a sure thing, you could have a baby that looks just like you, light hair, eyes and skin tone. You just never know! But odds are your child with resemble your significant other but might have features of you (shape of your mouth, nose and eyes..etc..) Congrats & Good Luck!

Okay, one of my hobbies is studying families and how they look alike (or don't look alike). My educated guess is that your baby will have a beautiful medium skin tone, it could range from peach to dark tan really. Probably dark brown hair and brown, green or hazel eyes. Your baby will probably have that ethnic look where you can't really identify the race but there is something exotic in there. If that makes sense. Best wishes :)
