What can I do to control my nausea?

Did anyone get severe nausea while on birth Control pills for the first time?

• Did anyone get severe nausea while on birth Control pills? i had my son 4 months ago and never used birth Control before only condoms! so i just started my birth control pills on Thursday and ever since ive been feeling, Very nauseated for the past 5 days and it happens at the same time it gets really bad around 3:00am, i get dry heaves and its horrible! im not pregnant i got my period and took a hpt negative but ever since starting these stupid pills i feel like when i was pregers this nausea feels like morning sickness all over gain what should i do? ughh i feel so bad ive lost 4 pounds in only 5 days i cant eat nothing everything grosses me out! help please anyone any suggestions? i called my r. and they said to continue the month but i dont know how i can continue the month feeling like this its horrible!!!!! this is the first time i have ever taken birth control pills is there anything that can help with nausea? what should i try eating? i tried eating soup but the flavors make me feel like throwing up i can only drink liquids with out gaging!! man i really feel bad!

• Answer:

  Try taking the pill at a different time of the day. Also, it does take your body a little while to get used to the pill. I have had the same problem and I had to switch numerous times to finally find one that I like. I would give it a little bit more time and if your not feeling better ask your doctor to switch your pill. There are so many out there to try. Edit: Also trying taking with food, dry foods like saltine crackers and dry toast
