Christmas gift idea for my friend?

Do you think i should do this for my homeless friend for christmas?

  • i have a friend, he is homeless. i met him a while ago on my way to school one day and i bought him coffee to stay warm. and we've become friends since then. me and my brother were able to get him to a shelter and i go there and i visit him a lot when he is there. for christmas im going back to Montreal with my brother (he is my legal guardian) to spend christmas with our family so i wont be here for christmas. but i want to have a christmas dinner with my friend. i think he deserves to have a nice dinner with people who care about him. i would plan to do this before we leave to go Canada. but i dont know how to ask my brother and his girlfriend (she lives with us). im sure Aly wouldnt have a problem but the issue would be convincing my brother. and i dont even know if my friend would want to do this. do you think this is a good idea or should i just forget it. and you do think i should do it, im not sure what to say to make everyone feel comfortable. also i want to get him a gift, i dont know what to get him. could you help me with that too?

    You should probably get him a jacket or a sweater. Doesn't even hae to be a christmas sweater, just something to keep him warm, as I don't think he gets many new clothes too often. Getting him something small would probably mean more to him than you'd think. Maybe give him a couple dollars too if you can, but don't feel obligated. Ask your brother by just saying, "Hey, you know how [insert name here] will probably be alone on Christmas? So I was just thinking maybe before we leave he can come over and have Christmas with us, if that would be okay with you. [smile]" I don't think he would mind, but if her does, you'll need to accept that too. I think it's really nice what you're doing, hopefully it'll all work out. :) =]

thats a great idea you should give him some blankets, clean clothes, and hygenic products you have a big heart i wish i knew more people like you :D

I think its a lovely idea! You could always ask your brother and his girlfriend to come with you guys for dinner! I think its really sweet you would want to do something like that for a homeless man, you have a good heart! As far as gifts, what about some gift cards to fast food restaurants? hat and mitts? scarf? Indy

Thats an awesome idea! I wish I knew someone that I could do that for. Take him out to eat somewhere, and maybe you should bring him back to your house with your brother and his gf and have him open a present by the tree. I know it sounds corny, but im sure he will be grateful that he was able to spend xmas with ppl that care about him, instead of out on the streets. :) good luck!
