Why does student wants to enrolled nursing course?

Question about a course for school... help please :)?

• So when I'm older I would like to become a psychiatrist, and there are courses that you can take, to help with the future at my school. You can do whatever you want, like my friend wants to take the cooking course. But... I was thinking about taking the nursing course. But I don't know if it would be a lost cause because I would like to become a psychiatrist... And not a nursing assistant... This is what the course has to offer... look below. Certified Nursing Assistant Juniors/Seniors This half-day program provides students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and learn the skills necessary to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Students learn how to give basic nursing care to patients and residents. This includes assisting with personal hygiene, movement, nutrition, elimination, communication and emergency situations. In the classroom students learn about anatomy and physiology, diseases, illnesses and conditions of the human body, and they practice tasks in the skills lab. Working in the local nursing homes and hospital is required. Qualified students who successfully complete the program have the opportunity to take the State of Maine Certified Nursing Assistant exam in the spring and become a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.). Students are prepared to work as a C.N.A. and/or further their education in nursing or other medical fields. Attendance is crucial there are state mandated hour requirements that must be fulfilled prior to take the C.N.A. exam. A student interview and references may be required. Do you think I should do that? :)

  Well, when going into any medical field, it is good to have a stable overall medical knowledge, not just what you will need to know for the field that you pursue, so I would say yes. It gives you that much more experience and could open doors later down the road that you might not even be aware of now. And even if you weren't going into a medical career, if you want to take it, and would enjoy doing it, then why wouldn't you?
