How can one deal with Obsessive-Compulsive tendencies?

Do i have anorexic tendencies?

  • well im definitely not anorexic.. but my best guy friend keeps telling me i have "anorexic tendencies." i never used to think that, but now that he said it ive been worrying about it so i just want some second opinions :) - i think im extremely overweight (im 5'2 and 120 pounds) - i want to weigh 85-95 pounds - i wish i was thin enough to see my bones - i feel so guilty after i eat a lot - im uncomfortable if im not wearing a baggy hoodie because i think everyone will see how fat i am - i hate eating in front of people. the only people i will eat in front of are my family and some of my friends. anyone one else and i start getting really anxious.. sometimes its to the point where im close to crying. - sometimes ill go about a week without eating or heavily restricting calories. i dont do it very often and i always start eating again but when i do i go through a period of absolute self loathing. - i get insanely jealous of skinny girls - ive thought i was fat since i was about 6 - i sometimes get the urge to make myself throw up but ive never done it i dont know, i always thought this was somewhat normal because im a teenage girl (14) and arnt we all uncomfortable with our bodies? i didnt even think it was possible to only have anorexic tendencies.. like your either anorexic or your not, yah know? anyways, what do you think?

    I think that if you are not actually anorexic then at the rate you are going you WILL be anorexic or bulimic very soon. You have a body image disorder for sure, and if you do not get help it WILL lead to you becoming anorexic. If you begin to make yourself vomit then you could be facing bulimia which is just as bad(if not worse then anorexia.) The point I am trying to make is that you do have an eating disorder and you need to stop it before it manifest into something very serious! Anorexia and bulimia kills 76% of its victims, the others with the disease have stopped it before it got to the point of death. What you need to do is talk to an adult (that you feel comfortable with) and tell them that you have a problem. Tell them EVERYTHING that you told us, and ask them to help you get treatment before it becomes out of control. There are a lot of 1-800 numbers you can call and a ton of website that can tell you where you can get help. If you can not find an adult that you want to tell, then tell your doctor. It is their job to make sure that you are living a healthy lifestyle. Please just don't sit around and worry about your weight, get some help. After you get help, you can find a healthy way to stay slim and look good without putting yourself in danger! God Bless and Good Luck!!

That is not extremely overweight!!!! I'm 13, 5'2" as well and 120 pounds too. I know I'm not in the best shape but IM NOT OVERWEIGHT AND NEITHER ARE YOU!!! 85-95 pounds is wayyyyyyyyy too little, perhaps 105-110 is all right. It's not good to see your bones. I'm jealous of skinny girls too (aren't we all :) ). All the other stuff is not good either. Just be beautiful and love the way you look. And if you want to lose weight, work out. Get muscly. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Nothing you havent heard before im sure... If that doesn't get you what you want, talk to your doctor. Good luck!

your very anorexic and it will just get worse and worse if you dont get help. my old bestie was anorexic and almost died but her parents put her in a hosp for treatment. Shes ok now but she isnt the same person I used to know

ok im 5'2 and i am 85 pounds its not great, i can see more bones than id like (id like to not be able to see them at all) im not 85 pounds intentionally. ive been trying to put weight on for months but nothing is working. so wanting to weigh that much is not good feeling guilty after food is a sign on anorexia wishing you were thin enough to see bones is a sign of anorexia, seeing bones isnt pretty. as i said i can see bones and its horrible. people allways say i look too thin etc jeans dont fit right, my 11year old sisters jeans dont fit me and im 17 i hate eating infront of strangers too, i just worry thel think its grose. geting near to tears isnt good the not eating for a week is a huge problem none of this is normal its true alot of people are uncomfortable with there bodys but you seem to detest your body. the only feeling comfortable in baggy clothes is the only reasonably normal point you have made i think you are annorexic alot of people get confused and think people who are really thin are annorexic when really annorexia is a state of mind. if you were 85pounds right now youd be called annorexic by people who dont know what annorexia really is (i get my dad calling me anorexic..) go to the doctor make an appointment and tell them about this

Yeah, you could eventually have some kind of eating disorder. Eat healthy and exercise a lot. And weight is...well just because you're a certain number on a scale doesn't mean you look like it. I'm 5'4", 132 lbs and I wear a size 2. 14 y/o also. Cut back on calories, no junkfood, and go for walks during the day. Check out a BMI calculator, you're fine where you are now. Going down to evel 100lbs for you wouldn't be that good AT ALL. So eat your fruits and veggies and get enough exercise. And you're still growing, so if you don't like your body now it'll probably even out eventually.
