High school / College students - do you have a Macbook? Do you like it?

LOVE IT. I'll never go back to windows

I don't have a Macbook, but I've used them plenty and really like them. I just don't want to invest that much money in something that I bring to school every day and may get broken or stolen. That's why I'm sticking with my $300 netbook. For the heat problem, just make sure that whatever computer you get has an Intel processor and NOT an AMD. AMD is notorious for getting very hot in laptops.

I have a macbook pro and it's the best investment of my life. I got iwork for it, and it should work fine with windows if you save your word document files as word documents [it's called pages on iwork]. It does get hot sometimes if on a soft surface, but I keep it on a desk and it works fine. Also, cooling pads help a ton. I use mine for school and it's great, it's a very popular computer for high school and college.

I have a macbook pro and i love love love it. soooooo much different than a regular PC, at first its kind of hard to get used to, but once you are used to it, you will learn to dislike PCs.

I would definitely get it. I just got one a couple of weeks ago for school (i am a junior in high school). My school recently got a grant, and they put a brand new macbook in the hands of every student. So far it is fantastic. It has everything you need for school. If you've always used a PC though, it can be a bit trying at first. Although I'm used to it now. If you're not going to play games, i do suggest this, although it is good for games. I have downloaded some on to it and it performs well. And it does get somewhat hot. When you use it for maybe an hour at a time, it should get to hot, but if you're on it constantly you can expect it to get pretty hot, but you can expect this from any computer. Overall I am very satisfied with this computer, and I would recommend you get this.

My sister and I both have MacBook Pro's and we love them. It's an amazing computer, I do design so I mainly have it for that because it's the best computer for art and design, but my sister just uses it for everyday stuff and it's excellent for that too. Even if you don't like the Mac software in the end, you can install a program on it called Boot Camp, which allows you to run Windows off it. No it doesn't get really hot (well at least the MacBook Pros don't).

Yeah, I LOVE mine. I'm using it right now :P It doesn't get horribly hot, but it does get warm when you're watching hulu on it or something. But it has a fan... :P Macs are wonderful... they last more than a few weeks cuz they don't get viruses :P and are also really durable. Mine's been dropped NUMEROUS times, but is still totally fine... haha, it used to be my brothers.

My brother has a Macbook and loves it. Something to consider, though: most schools have Windows. So if you wanted to work on something at home, than bring it on a flashdrive to work on it at school, you'd have the convert the file. It's a big hassle, so you need to think about that.
