Songs wont go on my iPod nano 4th generation ? please help !?

hi ! i just found my iPod nano after 4 months . when i went to charge it , i went on itunes to put music on , and it didnt even say that my iPod is plugged in . what happened ? can someone please tell me how to put new songs on ?

Answer:
It keeps rebooting cause the battery is dead. Charge it in a wall adapter for 30 minutes and then try again.
