What kind of accent do you have?

  • I have a southern accent which gets thicker as I age. I usually tone it down in public because people sometimes make fun of me because it's so thick. But, at home I don't really care because everyone except my mom has one. She has a Louisiana accent which sounds more like a New York one. So, what kind of accent do you have and are you embarrassed by it.

I have a middle class Maritime accent (Most common one heard on the East Coast of Canada). I went to Boston and I almost cracked up laughing. But then I went to Florida and sounded like everyone else.
