How to convince my parents to let me quit piano?

Parents? any advice on how to convince my parents to buy a piano again?

  • I used to play piano. I played for 8 years straight and quit. Meanwhile I had picked up the violin. I played that for two years and quit. (More of a hassle on parents to drive me to lessons which were about 45 minutes to a hour away each week on top of it taking about 3 hours to get me to and from school). So my ex told me I should play the guitar. I thought I had done all my research and had my dad buy a guitar for christmas, I've tried to play it but its too big :'( I have really tiny hands, if this helps I've sized them to a 8 year olds hands and im 16 almost 17. I still pick up the violin to play, but more than anything I regret quitting the piano. (My dad sold my piano because he thought it took up too much space since I didn't play it a whole lot once I quit, but this was only because my parents kept promising and promising to go get me sheet music because all I had were some easy books (I was advanced, so as you can imagine that got pretty boring) :/ well, I have enough money to buy a used one :) we moved to a bigger house, and Im trying so hard to get one. I know this sounds bad but its actually made me tear up not being able to play. I want to play so bad I can't see straight. So parents, any advice on what to do to convince my parents? I've already told them id pay to get it tuned and pay for the piano. I can't even convince them to let me get a keyboard. :/ ugh please help, im desperate! (They say im not mature enough yet im 16, finishing my senior year, I have a free year of college, im trying really hard to get a job (applied at over 10 places), I took my gauges out because I felt like it was time to have mature looking ears to get a job, I do almost every single chore in the house, I help coupon to save money, I bake, I dont hang out alot with friends, I stay out of trouble for the most part, (I have a bit of a tude but I've calmed it down and worked on it. My friends think Im one of the sweetest people they know:) and I try not to ask for alot)

  • Answer:

Give him some legit reasons of why a piano could be beneficial to you and tell him how you would really like to play. Tell him how much you regret quitting and that it would make you happy.:) If your a daddy's girl I'm sure you know how to work your magic.:) If your not just throw out some facts and statistics about people who play the piano.
