Why do adults think teens don't know what true love is?

• Why aren't my parents together...... if adults REALLY understood love..... then why aren't my parents together? They are in their 40's and STILL don't know what true love is. Why are the divorce rates so high? If adults knew what true love is , then why are the divorce rates so high? If adults knew what true love is , then why are there so many adult rapist and murderer's? I am sorry but I do not believe true love is related to age at all!! It's actually rather offensive and hyprocritical for adults to say that "teens don't know what love is". I have seen many teens that have been together way longer than married adults! And not in just romantic love, there are many teens who show unconditional love to their families and friends in ways that certain adults would NEVER show.

  Everybody starts out their love life with many boyfriends/girlfriends. A lot of the time, since teenagers are so young, they are inexperienced and think what they're feeling is love, but it isn't. Adults say that a teenager can't know what love is because they haven't truly felt it for themselves even if they say so. This isn't always true. Teenagers are often times in love and do know what being in love means, but the adult couldn't know that for sure and might not think so. Adults will get divorced so often not because they weren't in love, but because they are no longer in love. Adults may not have judged the potential of the relationship well, however, or things can be truly different than how they started off. As for love for friends and family, even more teens know about this kind of love because they've felt it from the start of their lives. It isn't like dating where you have to learn about relationships and feelings until you have it right. A teen might tell you about loving friends and family, "Love is when you care about somebody unconditionally," or, "Loving someone is when you'd truly do whatever you can to make the person happy just because you care for them." Both of these things are very true about love. Relationship love, which as I've said is harder to be sure about, is that as well, which is what people just need to remember in terms of love. Love cannot be determined by age, you are very correct. Love is in babies, children, teenagers, young adults, adults, and the elderly. Everybody has love, for sure.
