How many days can a child be out of school in a year without the school reporting it? I know of someones?

child that is out for two or more days a week. The child always seems to have a fever. The school sends her home with a fever of 100.2, is this right

Answer:
It depends on the district's rules. Usually after a certain number of absences the school will send home a letter. Then after another amount they request a conference. At the conference they look at how many absences were excused and how many were not. A lot of times they'll try to come up with a plan to make sure the child is learning everything needed to pass the grade. I know at my child's school if you don't help with the plan as a parent they don't have to pass your child on no matter what the grades are.

well, since the school is doing it, who would report it? why should they keep her there with a fever? how old is the child? school districts vary in the amount of absences they allow.

If she has a fever of 100.2, she should stay home or go to the hospital to ask the doctor why she has a huge fever.

strange... well in the course of a year I think when it reaches more than 20 absences, the school at least calls home

Different schools have different rules. Most schools don't allow children in school if they have a fever. If the school is sending the child home because of fever then obviously there is a medical problem. Medical problems are excused absences. It is up to the parents to get medical care if it happens frequently

if the kid is sick than the kid is sick. there is really nothing u can do. as long as the kid has a legit dr. note than he/she can miss 100days.

If the kid is absent 11 days in one grading period (9 weeks) they send the police to your house.

It really depends on the district. In the district where I teach, a child missing 80 days or more automatically repeats that grade. Of course WAY before that time the school intervenes. I have seen parents being taken to court for this. It is sad if the child is sick so often. Hopefully the parents are getting her home schooling when she is out sick. If the child is out sick a lot, the parents will need a doctor's note for the child's school file to prove that she was sick and not just home for other reasons or just skipping school. The average number of days a child misses per year in our district is 4.5. So that's a ton lower than 80! The school is the one to be handling all of this, though. If the child is out sporadically, then it will be tougher for them to do something about it. In our district, if the child's fever is 100.5 or higher they are not to be in school. You could call anonymously and ask them about it.
