I had a petting zoo at the park for my daughter one yr... it was a lot of fun, they set up a little fence and had bunnies, and guinea pigs, and a baby goat, ETC... they also had a pony and did pony rides... the kids LOVED it, it cost about $140 which isn't bad for a b-day party... you pay like double that at a place like Chuck E Cheese. Good luck and have fun!

I found games for the 4 - 6 crowd, like Animal Escape, Feed the Ducks - which has them waddle around, Cat Tails game, Ring toss and others. Most of these are do it yourself games or printable games, find them here: http://www.partygameideas.com/kids-games/index-young-children_3.php And if you need more options check out this list of 70 games http://www.partygameideas.com/kids-games/games-list.php or see if these outdoor party games will work for your event. http://www.partygameideas.com/kids-games/index-outdoor-games_5.php Good luck Sarah

Pass the parcel is easy, water fight (friendly) a game where you are in teams and you break eggs in a bowl trying to get the least shell in though that is a bit messy, let them play on the stuff at the park. Tag, stuck in the mud, pin the tail on the donkey (have to bring that with you) Happy birthday to your daughter!! xx

I recently had a party for my 6yr old @ a park as well. I did a flower/butterfly theme so as activities I had the children make tissue paper flowers and butterfly sun catchers (also using tissue paper). Games included : a scavenger hunt using nature themed items (just write out a few simple to follow directions to read as clues and let them try to find the items) they also played cotton-ball blindfold race. All you need is a bag of cotton balls a lg wooden spoon, 2 large plastic bowl and a blind fold. If you have 2 of each item then they can go 2 at a time. Rules: sit blind folded person in front of bowl. they can only use the spoon to scoop the cotton balls into the empty bowl. each player has 1 minute and whoever has the most at the end wins. Have everyone cheer them on as they rush to win. We also played balloon relay race. have two kids side by side hold a balloon between their knees and race to a finish line w/o dropping the balloon. You can variate this by changing the way they must get to the finish line. for example: hop instead of walk, or crab walk. These games are free and they entertain well and can be adapted easily to fit to your needs. Good luck and have fun.
