How Can I Get A Paper Route Job?

I have a 10 year old brother who wants to get a job on a paper route. How can he go about getting it?

• He very much so wants to earn money, and this is one of the few jobs I know of that he can do at his age. I will also admit that my knowledge of the job is dated and I therefore know next to nothing about what is involved, how often it is done, when it is done, and how he would get paid. If anybody has any current information on how to go about this, I would greatly appreciate it.

  How it works in my town is the route is to be delivered everyday after school, 1pm pick up during summer. Saturday papers are picked up no later than 7am. The customers all pay at the office and the people who do the paper route are given their money in the middle of the month. Here you have to be at least 9 years old and get parental permission. But forewarning the newspaper doesn't stop for bad weather days. Just because you get off for school doesn't mean you get off for the paper. If it's -40 outside you still have to go, if it's 98 you still have to go. He cannot just skip when summer gets here because he would rather play baseball or go swimming. If your brother really wants to do it I would really recommend that your parents be apart of it. He has no business going out when it's -40 and 9 inches of snow. So he will need your parent/s.
