What are some summer activities for kids?

Go to the beach. Play Capture the Flag. Water balloon toss or fight. Play Neucom(like volleyball). Play Soccer. Make cookies and frost them funny ways. Begin a story and write one sentence, hand it to each other with new sentences, then read your interesting story. Do makeovers! Tan outside. Ride bikes and meet somewhere. Have a crazy dance off with music you all like. Watch movies. Play musical chairs. Use a sprinkler and do a water fight. Play an all time favorite.. truth or dare. READ. lol.. just kidding. Play marco polo. Hide and seek. Play Hand games. Play Tag. Go to bored.com. idk...good luck. =]

sprinkler, super soakers, giant bubble blowers, get a mini-trampoline if you can't afford or don't have space for a big one (I got one for $30).

Try this: Spring clean the toy shelf Create something new (a city, space station) with all that they are willing to throw out.

Make a game out of it all, have the younger kids collect empty things and house hold things around the house and bring them to you for permission, give them a set time to find these items. What they find and have permission to use they must build something with it using their imagination. The older kids depending on their age could do this by hunting using the outdoor enviroment, leaves, rocks, sticks etc. Only thing you provide is glue, (glue gun if you want to help w/ it), constructioin paper, and scissors. oh ya also for a cookie recipe, make some sugar cookie dough and cut out into small stripes. lay them into a square and place some crushed up jolly ranchers in the center and bake the jolly ranchers will melt making a glass window looking cookie. Kids love them.

try painting picthurches out side and tell the kids they can be as messy as they whant rent movies make cookies have them put on a dance or acting show hope

Well it depends on what city you live in. But in many large cities such as Chicago, you can go to public libraries and borrow free museum passes to take up to four people there for free. Also in the library they have programs for children to participate in where they read books and earn points, at the end of the summer they receive certificates, t shirts, free books and a pizza party. Go to your local arts & crafts store (Michael's is the best one); they normally have classes kids can take. I learned how to knit a few weeks back. Once you get going it's easy, and it's pretty addictive. If nothing else, it's very cathartic. We made "fake pizzas" at home last night...use hamburger buns. Have you ever played croquet? There are always things going on down at local libraries.

I completly understand where you are coming from. I have 3 myself. Here are some I found.

Bubbles, sidewalk chalk, wading pool, (check the dollar store for little inexpensive water toys), hopscotch, give them a pile of Popsicle sticks, glue, paper, pom-poms, glitter and let them create, finger paint and regular paint, play-dough, head to the playground, swimming, hiking, backyard picnics....
