How do I get my grade average?

I failed the 7th grade but how can I get into the 8th this year with out retaking the 7th grade?

  • HI there, I was wondering is there some kind of test that I can take to get into the 8th grade with out having to repeat the whole 7th grade again. Or can my parents pay the school to get me into the 8th grade. I'm asking this because I have heard that you can get into the next grade with out having to repeat the whole other grade that you failed. So please I want serious answers because I'm worried about having to retake the 7th grade again!

  • Answer:

Well, you certainly can't pay to skip a grade, otherwise, why would anyone go to school who had money? But 7th grade is pretty useless, so there might be some flexibility there. Was there not a possibility of attending summer classes to improve your academic record? I'm pretty sure I failed grade 9 since I didn't really go to school in grade 9, but then I found myself in grade 10 the year after, so there you go, things sort of work out like that sometimes. Only your last 2 years of high school really count for anything. All your previous grades are ignored by universities.

Rarely -- RARELY-- the school district will allow you to go to the next grade on probation. They will only do this is they are convinced that you will behave, study, and take things seriously. If you failed because you goofed off, talked back, skipped class and just were a general pain in the posterior, then there is no way they will allow probation. If you failed because you had family issues, or health problems or something that was completely NOT your fault, they may allow probation. There is no test to retake the 7th grade. There is a test to let you SKIP a grade, but you had to be doing well the year before. There is no way to PAY to get you to the next grade unless it is a private school and your parents are EXTREMELY rich. Buckle down, study and take school seriously from now on or you will be the only one in 7th grade with a drivers license.

You need to talk to your teachers, principal, guidence councerlors, ect. about moving on to the next grade. Usually theyll have you take a test to prove you are ready for the 8th grade. You might have to take some summer school classes but its better than retaking the whole grade. No your parents cannot pay the school to get you to the next grade. That there is called a bribe and is in fact frowned upon in most school districts. Next time take your schoolwork seriously. And good luck. Trust me youll need it.

I know many people at my school who do not take middle school seriously and fail many classes. 99% of the people are usually dumped into 8th grade regardless. If you take the 7th grade again, it will be alright, that way it will be easier for you to understand the material presented, especially if you did terrible in math and science. Since this is middle school, most people won't care. A lot of what happens depends on your parents' influence they have on the school. The school will usually side with the parent and does what the parent thinks. So, if the school believes you will do fine and go on to the 8th grade, then they will let you go on, unless of course your mom/dad battles and tells them to let you repeat a grade or it could be the other way around. Most of this is a scare tactic...so that you will make your grades better. I know some people that had summer school, but that was a complete waste of time because all of the work they did was work on the basics. If you do have to repeat though, this will make you understand why school is important. I think the main subject that builds on itself is math, so if you had a D in math, it wouldn't be so bad as having an F. A lot of the stuff I learned in middle school, helps me so much more now that I'm in high school and so I have to study way less than others in my class.

Depending on what caused you to fail, there is a possibility you can retake certain core classes to get bumped to the next grade. You and your parents would have to speak with the principal and school board about what you would need to retake, although I am not sure if you have enough time before this school year starts.

You can't now because it's August. There is something called the no child left behind program but you have to apply for it before school gets out and it's not recommended. Sorry

Im just not sure you can pay for it. Talk to your parents about it, and see if they can find out.

No there's not, you will just have to put in the effort the second time around.
