What are some cheap but good field trips to go to?

Do American kids go on field trips...?

  • Do American kids in public schools go on field trips to museums, zoos, aquariums, or historical sites? Do parents come a long as chaperones? If they do, how often do they go? Where do they go--specifically--do you know of a place school kids in your area go to on field trips? I was just curious because I never see big groups of kids out places on field trips here.

  • Answer:

Yes, American kids go on field trips to zoos, museums, etc. And yes, some parents go as chaperones. Most field trips are within the USA but sometimes, groups go to other countries too. Italian clubs may go to Italy, etc.

We do but our field trips are rather boring. We visit fields. The most memorable one from my school days was our trip to see cucumbers.

I have 3 in Eleamentary school and they go on field trips about 3 times a year. When they are in daycare in the Summer they go somewhere almost every day! They toured a coal mine, went to a museum, picnic, state parks, you name it they went!

Yes, there are usually one or two trips a year, and parents do chaperone. When I was a kid, we went to places like the zoo and science center, and to a hydroelectric dam. My son went to a farm last year (in kindergarten), as well as touring places like the grocery store and police station on the military base where we live, to learn about the jobs people did there.

Heck yeah! The Kindergarteners here usually do 3 field trips per year. The older grades do at least one field trip. The gifted class sometimes gets to do more than that at my son's school if there is enough money. apple orchard pumpkin patch zoo Children's Museum dance concerts theatre performances 5th graders at my daughter's school go to Washington DC in the spring

Yes kids go on field trips. Parents usually come along as chaperones and I have seen them go a couple of times a year to the zoo or a musem, or some place of interest.

Well my daughter is almost 2, however her daycare/preschool that she is in goes on field trips every few months. Parents are encouraged to go as chaperones. Funny you bring this up becaues we got a permission slip yesterday for her next trip... PUMPKIN PICKING! That should be fun. They've also gone to the Planetarium and the Crayola Factory and the Aquarium.
