Do the schools in Mexico teach their students that the U.S. 'stole' the Southwest from Mexico?
-
Is that why the illegals keep insisting that Americans 'stole' their territory and that they have a 'right' to be here, because that's what they actually believe? If that's the case, I almost feel sorry for all those young students in Mexico who are being brainwashed by their corrupt government. You'd figure Mexico would get over something that happend hundrends of years ago. A time were everyone from that era are long dead. I guess I was wrong.

Answer:
There are Charter schools right here in the U.S. that teach them that, and your tax dollar is paying for it.

Well, according to the immigration section here on Y!A, it seems to be the common gripe. I dont hate German people b/c they killed Jews in the past. I dont hate white people b/c long ago they bought slaves, etc... Isnt it also fact we BOUGHT this land? Either way, what is now is now. right? Start looking out the front because if we keep looking in the rear view, we'll have an accident. In my heart, I wish we could save the world..Mexico, Darfur, Starvation in Africa, etc.. We just cant. Life isnt fair for ANY of us. And certain parts of the world have it much tougher than any of us can imagine. The US needs to start cleaning the mess here at home. If you do come here-appreciate us and do it the right and legal way.

This is what happens when people begin to rewrite history. They lost it during one of the many wars we fought with them when they were still connected to Spain. I have yet to have anyone show me a deed to the area in contention, so until then, it's ours. Too bad.

They used to under the old corrupt government (not Fox's or Calderon's but the prior one.) You know, the one that rigged elections, apparently. They have changed the books they give the school kids, but whole generations there learned it that way. -- Oh, and sassy is absolutely correct about the charter schools. One I know of in particular. However Mexican text books are used quite often in schools in Texas where they teach in both Spanish and English. I sure hope they have reviewed the textbooks for that data point, but I'm certain the out of date textbooks can be had for a real deal....

People with filthy hands should not point fingers. The Spanish stole the land from the Indians. The Indians stole it from the animals. If they focused on improving education and economics of their country, they could worry less about who stole what from whom. If it were returned, the wealth of those lands would revert back to third world grade. They are better off with US sovereignty over the Southwest. They are incompetent at running a country or an economy, despite massive resources. By participating in the better run economy, they benefit more. The economy of a Mexican owned Southwest would be smaller than the remittances of the Mexicans working in the US. If the US had been smaller and weaker, it would not have won WWII. The Mexican government was an ally of Germany. The Nazi Party would be running the US, and Mexico. It would have sent all those non-Aryans to extermination camps. The Mexican government would have collaborated with its good Nazi friends in this enterprise of ethnic cleansing. None of the current Mexicans would be alive today, except for the strength of the US. US ownership of the Southwest is for the welfare of the Mexican people.

I taught English at the University of Mexico for two years. I do not know what was taught to the students in elementary education first hand. But to the person, all the Mexicans, everyone of them, told me that the Americans stole 1/2 of their territory. It is easy to see their point. General Santanna took the money General Houston gave him for the territory, and kept it all for himself. He didn't give any to the government. So they feel that since the Americans didn't hand deliver it to Mexico City, it was our fault the government didn't get the money, and our fault they didn't get the document, more like a treaty, that gave us 1/2 of the country.

Yes. I guess the inferior people have to have a scapegoat to blame for their failings.
