How to get my Russian fiancee to Germany?

  • How to get my Russian fiancee to Germany? I'm an American military contractor living in Germany. I am engaged to a Russian woman. Our plan was to go up to Denmark and get married when she get's out here. Here is the problem... She's come to visit me in Germany in the past with no problem, but the last two times she filed her visa to come visit it was denied. Can anyone help me, does anyone know what I can do or where I can start to resolve this. Thank you, Jimmy

    - "... she filed her visa to come visit it was denied" - what type of visa? Usually, they apply for travel visas, and yes, usually to get married in Denmark (it's quick). After your marriage she should go back to Russia, and you should work on family reunification visa in Germany/other EU state. BUT! this is how it actually works for citizens of EU, I don't know about American military contractors... you have to contact German Immigration Service and ask them. You can´t help her since you are not a german nor a citizen of an other EU country.

Travel to Russia and get married there. Understand, however, that Russia is a high fraud country, so even as your lawfully wedded wife she's not guaranteed an immigrant visa to the United States when the time comes.

Where it will be easier for her to get a visa? Turkey? Marry there maybe at an Orthodox church and then the German Government will have to give her visa.
