Is the british education system similar to the Australian education system?

  • are teaching methods in the UK [England especially] and the education system similar to the education system in Australia. Would a year 10 student be able to handle continuing studies in the UK and will year 7 and 8 students adapt to school in UK too. The students here went to a public primary school and private secondary school.

Any half-decent school will be able to provide you with specific advice and support about the changeover when you get to the UK. Other than the difference in the school year, the other thing to consider is GCSEs for the year 10 student - if they haven't completed their year 10 in Australia then they won't have transferable year 10 Australian qualifications and will need to sit UK GCSEs which might be a bit stressful to come straight into, but not insurmountable.
