Are online schools the same in Mexico and the United States?

What do you think Mexico's ambassador to the United States cannot criticize U.S. treatment of illegal aliens ?

  • . Mexico's ambassador to the United States yesterday said previous Mexican officials made a "dumb mistake" by issuing comic books to aid illegal aliens crossing the border, and said his government cannot criticize U.S. treatment of illegal aliens as long as Mexico has harsh laws on its books. "It's very hard for Mexico to preach to the north what it does not do to the south," Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan said in a meeting with editors and reporters at The Washington Times... "Unless we correct the fundamental challenge of the violation of human rights of Latin American or Central American migrants crossing the border into Mexico, it's very hard for me to come up and wag a finger and say you guys should protect the rights of my citizens in this country," he said, adding that changes to the Mexican law are now pending... In particular, the ambassador criticized past moves to distribute materials aimed at helping illegal aliens safely cross the U.S.-Mexico border.... That's not to say Mr. Calderon didn't want Congress to pass Mr. Bush's immigration bill... But Mr. Sarukhan said Mexican officials understand Americans' trepidation and desire for a secure border, and he said they are well aware of the consequences if a breach of the U.S.-Mexican border were to be involved in a future attack on U.S. security. "The day that happens, this relationship as we have known it, is over," he said. "I would say Mexico and the United States are working extremely well in trying to ensure that border is not used to underpin or challenge the national security of the United States."What is this guy doing working for Mexico? Anybody who can spin like this should be employed by our gov't or some transnational corporation. "Unless we correct the fundamental challenge of the violation of human rights of Latin American or Central American migrants crossing the border into Mexico, it's very hard for me to come up and wag a finger and say you guys should protect the rights of my citizens in this country," he said, adding that changes to the Mexican law are now pending. Translation: Once you open your border to Mexico, we'll open our southern border to all of Central America because we know none of the people crossing it are going to stay any longer in Mexico than it takes to get to your country. http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070720/NATION/107200095/1001

I can't believe a Mexican citizen is actually stating what, to a great many, has been plainly obvious and should have been to anyone, for years. A pleasure to read.

He can criticize all he wants.... it's just that we should pay no attention to him....

It's good to see that some people in Mexico appreciate the US for all that we've done for the Mexican people. If not for the US taking care of much of Mexico's poor people that country would be in a state of perpetual revolution.

The very fact that the Mexico/US border is known worldwide as a joke is being exploited by government officals from both sides. This article needs to be linked and combined with the press release stating Mexico does not have enough people to fill jobs. OMG! This comes at approximately the same time as the proposed Bush administration attempts to drop borders there. when the border comes down and is relaxed, the government 'spin' on all of this is going to leave the public thinking that this is a logical step, and thus not drawing any complaints as people will naturally think this. Aside from the border issues, what we are all missing is this point; 'If you understand raw human emotion, and reactions, you can pretty much do anything you like." Everything the govt does, says, or leaks is for a reason, otherwise they wouldn't say it. By introducing things like this slowly to the psyche of the public, when it does occur, it will seem like a natural progression to the next step. Ask people before all this spin began if dropping a border with anyone was a good idea and they'd outright say no...a few carefully constructed press releases later and all of a sudden you have a consensus agreeing with the relaxation of international borders. Manipulation doesn't just occur in one fail swoop, and is often planted into the mind using a slow and calculated approach...think about what the govt officials are really saying, and scrutinise their eye movement and body language...anyone can lie and talk b******x, but to control your body language is another thing again... In softening the relationship with Mexico now, you can guarantee in a few years, if not months, that the US govt will have to move in to control the area, thus creating a bigger America as per the leaked foreign policy document of the early 90's.
