What is the procedure to change the address on passport?

Which documents as a address proof can be used for applying Indian Passport?

• Hi, I am planning to apply for a passport. I went through the required documents section in the indian passport official website. From that, I feel I don't have enough documents for the address proof. My Permanent and Present addresses are different. Can anyone suggest me whether following documents will be accepted? Permanent Address: 1. Letter from reputed employer on Letter head( I am working in a MNC from past 1.9 years) 2. Driving License 3. Letter from MRO Present Address: 1. Electricity Bill(in the name Owner's) 2. My Vodafone Bill 3. Letter from My Employer. In addition to that for permanent address, I have Electoral Card and Electricity Bill. Electricity Bill doesn't contains address. If I can get address on the Electricity bill then do the last month's Electricity bill is enough for address proof or do I need to provide earlier bills also(say last one years) And also the address mentioned on Electoral Card is wrong. Will it be possible to change the address on it now? If so, what is the procedure and how much time it will take? If it possible, then getting permanent address proof is resolved. I have Ration Card also. However, it has previous house(rented) address. Please suggest me..:(

  Driving Licence for permanent address will do. Vodafone bill is not acceptable. If you have BSNL/MTNL bill, it would serve the purpose. The other acceptable proofs are: 1. Gas Connection passbook. 2. Account in any govt. bank like SBI, PNB etc. 3. Rent Agreement.
