What are the chances to win american green card lottery 2013?

  • hello everybody I am 26 years old female, single, medical doctor, from Iran. I have filled the forum for lottery 2013 on 23rd oct 2011 (registration was from 4th oct to 5th nov) I want to know is there any diffrence when to apply (some people told me if you register on the first days is higher chance!) and does my age and education has any effect on th results? please give me some good news cause I need to feel good about that :D

Winning in the lottery is a matter of luck. When you send in your submission, your age, your education, and nothing else has any effects here. I played for 11 years until I got lucky, others participated only once and got picked, while some people never get lucky. Again, it's a lottery, nothing else.

Very low, there are on average around 8 to 10 million applications submitted every year and the US only accepts around 50,000. Seeing as your a doctor why not just apply the regular way? you already have the advantage of being a professional so your application falls into a much smaller sub category and will be processed much faster as opposed to that of an unskilled worker. No one has applied for the 2013 lottery yet since they aren't reviving applications yet. They start accepting them around the end of the year around October I believe.
