Is ECNR required for Dubai tourist visa?

How long will it take for me to get an Australian Tourist Visa when applying from Middle east (Dubai, Qatar )?

• I am on an Indian Passport, I am working in Qatar for the past 5 months. I have to apply for Australian Tourist visa which i have been told would be processed from Dubai office since they dont have an office in Qatar . Can anyone please tell me how long would the processing take in order to plan my trip ? I have studied in Australia and has lived in Sydney for a total of two and a half years (would that be considered as an added advantage for the success of Visa being granted?). and lastly, how many months of bank balance would i be required to show. Please help me with above mentioned questions.

  The tourist visa usually takes no more than 12 weeks to process, although it is always a good idea to check directly with your consul as waiting times do vary. Do you not qualify for an Electronic Visa as you are only visiting as a tourist? If you do then it will be issues with your airline ticket within a week. Re bank statements, usually 2 or 3 months is sufficient. They want to ensure you have sufficient funds for your stay which can be a lump sum, or savings plus a demonstrable income. Again, you should check with your consul exactly how much you will need to prove you have, as it will depend on how long you plan to stay. I am pretty sure the information I have given here is accurate, but I cannot stress enough that you should check this out for yourself directly, as these things have a habit of changing, and you are going to be the one talking to customs at the airport.
