Do Asylum Seekers Take the UK and its Citizens For Granted?

Lets see. You were stopped in the street by a non-white person or somebody speaking pidgin English (I'm going to assume you didn't check his passport) and then leapt to the conclusion he was an asylum seeker (oh no, sorry, a bogus asylum seeker... they're all bogus afterall, aren't they?). This begs the question, why do I tolerate your thinly veiled bigotry? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you demanding the government cares more about you (somebody who can't string a rudimentary English sentence together) than somebody who, for all we know, can speak perfect English and works hard for a living all because you are white? Or did racial stereotypes have it that this couldn't possibly be true. He looks/talks differently and therefore should be chucked into the English Channel without further delay?

Asylum seekers often sell from cars in a threatening manner, take great care and try to humour them , then get the hell out of the way. Mass immigration has ruined the UK in my opinion

I have had dealings with these people....the rings they sell you are NOT gold.....they are plated! You will probably find that they aren't asylum seekers, but are Eastern European citizens who live in another area and are casing properties to burgle in your area. Your best plan if it happens again, is to take down the make and Registration Number of the vehicle, driver's appearance if you can and any other passengers and pass the details onto your local Police. Chances are they ALL have criminal convictions, and the Police will stop and search the vehicle and generally make it known that they are being watched!!

How on Earth do you know that somebody asking you to buy a ring off them is an asylum seeker? Was it just somebody of a different ethnicity to yours so you assume that they are outsiders and have decided you don't want them in your country based purely on colour? What you don't seem to understand is that asylum seekers are those who have fled their home country under the risk of death if they stay. These people have come from war torn backgrounds that you probably wouldn't believe, and many are sentenced to death due to things like being pro-democracy, and their only option for survival is to escape. The UK is a lucky and wealthy nation, that can afford to help these people in their very desperate time of need. These people move to your country and are more than grateful for any work they can be given. It is a common school of thought that people often take advantage OF THE REFUGEES because they are willing to work twice as hard as Westerners for half the price, and make very trustworthy and valuable employees. Despite coming from dangerous backgrounds and more often than not proving their worth through hard work and diligence in an attempt to recreate a better life for themselves and take advantage of all the opportunities those in the UK take for granted, refugees often suffer prejudice, purely for the fact that they are poor foreigners. Scare mongering and misinformation in the media creates a deranged perception of the average refugee, when really, they're just people trying to survive and make the best out of what they've got.

They just take... and that's the game.

Yes, they have completely destroyed our identity and culture. They are a drain on our taxes and have made it unable for us to get rid of them because they would label us as racists. I think enough is enough. We have let them into our country out of the kindness of our heart and they have abused what we have given them.

Other people have brought up the implied racism in assuming he was an asylum seeker but I'd like to question the notion that he was: Asylum Seekers: those people fleeing from tyrannical governments and oppression? I don't think they take anything for granted. I imagine, having been granted asylum, they're just grateful to have gotten out of their former nations alive, to be honest.
