How can i get my kids to stay in uk permanently?

• I just relocated to uk. It was a rushed move as I couldn't afford apt and fam in uk offered place to stay till I get sorted. I hold a british passport and my kids have us passport. Kids had no visa and I was giving hell to get in country. Needless to say we got thru but kids passports were stamped 6mth leave/stay no recourse to work or public funds. I am a lone parent with no help hence my move to uk. My kids have only me and going bak to us is out of the question. I am all they have. How do I go about getting them sorted so that they can remain. I am a british citizen (born in uk overseas territory). I have a full uk passport and my nationality is british. Can I apply for uk passports for them while they are in uk and have 6month visa stamped. Can I register them as uk citizens since I am a british citizen and their mother? Sending them back to US is not an option so if you can't give an imput as how they can remain here thanks for looking and keep your thoughts to yourself. Cheers!!!

  were you a british citizen at the time they were born? this is the most impirtant question if YES then yes you can register then as british citizens if NO then you will have problems. not all UK overseas territories give out automatic british citizenship
