"Sick of immigrants - Tell it to the Indians." Native Americans: What do you think of the Immigration issue?
-
I've always thought Native Americans should be brought into the debate on illegal immigration considering how their land was taken and millions were killed by European immigrants who came here to pursue their own interests. It would seem to be a very ironic situation for them. I don't know how many Native Americans are on this forum (I doubt many) but I'd be interested in your perspective. Please state what tribe you are affilated with.

Answer:
I'm part Native American (Comanche to be specific, descended from an actual shaman - a brother to Ten Bears). I'm also part African-American. They raised their family in New Orleans. They were part of a culture that made being black, or part black, something to be proud of.. Their ancestors came from southern France. On my mother's side, I'm Lancaster through-and-though. We lost the kingdom, but we never lost our pride. America is made up of immigrants. I was born here, but I'm mixed. In a way I'm an immigrant, too. And I'm proud of it. I'm proud of everything I am. Our strength comes from it's people. And it's people are either immigrants, or descended from immigrants.

Wow. Pretty strong stuff. I find native American fascinating I love the way they were portrayed, mystical and spiritual. Me, I'm Irish so we came in our thousands to America over the years. In Ireland now there are many many 'refugee's' coming from all over the world, where are these people coming from, what are they running from, what makes a man want to leave his birthplace and move half way around the world??? I say welcome all people with open arms, embrace difference, reach out to just one person and the world would be a much nicer place to live in

I am a native American.... Perhaps you should look up just what the word native means. You know the Indians were not indigenous to this land right? They migrated here as well. Lets also not forget how Mexico was formed. The same way that America was. Europeans came and conquered the native people.

I have some native american in me Sioux, Seminole, as well as other things. I believe that there is a reason why they call it illegal. I'd hate for terrorists to get in anyway possible. I do believe that we need to secure our waterways and boarders just like anyone else would do the same thing. I think if you'd like to live here then you need to come to America the right way in either getting a green card like everyone else or becoming a citizen. We have laws for a reason. If you can't obey them then you don't belong. I don't care if you are Mexican, Chinese, Russian, etc

well i am only part Indian so i guess i can have a say in this question that was yesterday get over it. this is today and i would think the Indians would tell you they don't like illegal immigration it didn't work out before , so why would you use that argument to justify it today ,lmao . they don't want anymore illegal immigrants and according to you they have enough so don't piss the Indians off and quit using them for your agenda !

America is not the Indians country - it was created by white European settlers. When the Europeans came over, there was no country, no government, no nothing, not even laws. It is not comparable. So injecting this specious sophomoric argument into the immigration debate is just a waste of time, and does nothing to advance the level of debate.

I correspond with one guy on here, he claims to be indian/native american and he's not too keen on bum's rush immigration either...America treats its' native americans a damn sight better than their cultural cousins get it in Mexico...

Most Indians are for no amnesty and close the border-watch the news-some are helping the minutemen build that fence. And they have joined their membership. And some tribes near the border are erecting their own fence and daring the government to tell them no. Because the government will not tell them no-ever !! Part Kickapoo Indian. Many Indians blended with New nation-they liked the new people. Often tribes fought among themselves-try reading.
