How do I become a massage therapist?

Do you have to take the ACT to become a massage therapist?

  • I want to become a massage therapist. I don't know the requirements you have to meet for it.. Like the classes you have to take for it ect. Do you have to take the ACT to go to massage therapist schooling?

  • Answer:

Research massage therapy courses, make sure they are accredited by a reliable authority (otherwise any "credential" is worthless in the job market), and see what they require. Relatively few universities require ACT - most require SAT. And most massage therapy programs are not university-level schools. Physical therapy, on the other hand, requires a masters degree in the US.

Other answers

Are you hoping to immigrate to the US in order to be a massage therapist at a Happy Ending clinic?? If not then why would you post this in the immigration section of YA? Massage therapy is normally taught at a "trade school". You are not required to take any entrance exam but need to have the cash to pay for your courses. As was suggested - Google is amazing and if you search Massage Therapy Courses for your area then you'll be inundated with info.

It probably depends on whether it's a accredited or non-accredited school.
