  • Answer:

1- Is it wise to settle in Canada? I am Canadian born and raised there. It is my country. Yes it is wise to settle there. 2- Canada's crime rate. Is it safe to stay? Canada's crime rate is one of the lowest in the world un like America's 3-) Canadian culture?Canada encourages immigrants to retain their unique culture. Nowhere else is there such a diversity of cultures existing together in a tolerant, peaceful society. 4) I'm into animations and heard canada is one of the best place when comes to animations. Yes this is true even though it is not as good as the USA but it is true. 5) Is Canada a right place for doing business? Yes, Canada is the right place for doing buisness as long as you have the sufficient funds to start your business. 6) Whats the speciality of Canada in terms of Food, clothing, festivals etc... There used to be a food "thing" in the summer, with food vendors and stuff like that, but I think it was not really popular and/or people got bored of it because it was offering too common food. Clothing is mixed since we have mixed races. 7} Yes we love to have immigrants and they are very welcome to live here with us. 8} Not really, we have good rates in terms of food and rent. The top 10 reasons to immigrate to Canada would be 1. Canada Rated the BEST Place to Live! The United Nations has often rated Canada as the best country in the world to live in. Canada has the highest standard of living and best quality of life. 2. Prosperity in Canada The economy is BOOMING! A fast growing, modern, industrialized nation, Canada offers unlimited potential and opportunity. With the highest standard of living, Canada is one of the richest countries and keeps getting better. 3. The Good Life Canadians enjoy one of the highest qualities of life in the world. The clean environment makes for clean living. 4. Growing Job Market At 6.8%, Canada’s unemployment rate is at its lowest since 1976, with hundreds of thousands of new jobs created each year. Canadians earn an average annual income of approximately $40,000. 5. Low Tax and Inflation Consistently decreasing taxes and a 2.3% inflation rate make for a resilient economy, and Canadians are taking home more each year. This is like giving the whole country a BIG RAISE! 6. Business and Industry Unlimited opportunities for development exist in the natural resources, manufacturing, construction, import/export, commerce, high-tech and service industries. 7. Top Quality Education Offering free primary and secondary education and subsidized post-secondary studies, Canada spends more on education than any industrial nation. Canadian universities and colleges have an excellent international reputation for high quality. 8. Health and Welfare Canadians have access to social assistance programs, affordable housing, FREE HEALTHCARE and a strong government that helps its people. 9. Safe and Secure Community policing, strict gun control laws and a fair justice system make Canada safe and secure for everyone. Crime rates are among the lowest in the world and continue to decline. 10. Multiculturalism Canada encourages immigrants to retain their unique culture. Nowhere else is there such a diversity of cultures existing together in a tolerant, peaceful society.

I would have thought you'd have researched all of this before deciding to emigrate.

As a Canadian, my answers to your questions are: 1) Yes, it is wise to settle in Canada. It is a beautiful and diverse country filled with lots of opportunities. 2) Crime rates are low, but this does vary. Canada is a HUGE land mass and where you live will greatly affect the type of experience you have. Generally speaking though, the crime rate is quite low. I lived my entire life in one of "the most dangerous cities" according to Macleans and did not think twice about leaving my door unlocked when I was home. Even with in cities, there are 'good' and 'bad' areas. 3) Canada has a very diverse culture. We are made up of the various Aboriginal groups and immigrants from countries across the world. Even those who have been in Canada for generations often feel cultural ties to a 'homeland' they may have never seen. However, in terms of everyday living, life is similar to what you would see in America. Considering that a large portion of our mass media comes from our Southern neighbours, it is no surprise that we share many cultural similarities. 4) I am not sure about the animation market or what your specific place in it is. But if you are interested in an animating career your best bet would be to settle in a larger centre like Vancouver or Toronto. 5) Depends what kind of business you want to do. This is something you would have to look in to. 6) Because Canada is made up of so many different cultures, the diversity is almost the specialty. The festivals and food available will vary depending on where you settle. The coastal provinces boast amazing seafood, the prairies claim the best grains and meat. If you move to an area that has a high population of immigrants, you will likely find traditions, festivals, and customs that you are familiar with! 7) I think in general we are proud of our diverse population and the fact that we are a "mosaic" rather than a melting pot. My pride in Canada is that (theoretically) we respect and honour everybody's differences and do not expect everyone to assimilate to a "Canadian" culture. However, in any population there will be people who do not like those who are "different." There will always be the ignorant people who claim that immigrants 'steal' jobs and abuse the Canadian system. If you are hardworking and friendly, you should not have a problem. Just remember that moving to any country will be an adjustment and you may feel isolated. Reaching out to others and finding friendships and connections will help to make you feel like you are truly welcome. 8) This depends on where you live. The larger cities are more expensive, and I think that we may have a higher cost of living than the United States of America. However, the higher taxes contribute to a wide range of social programs that (though not perfect) are not offered in the USA. Wikipedia has a bit of information on comparing the two economies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Canadian_and_American_economies I was born and raised in Canada and am currently living in the United States so my husband can pursue a degree. Both countries have many positives and negatives - but as a Canadian I cannot help but say that I adore Canada and think it one of the best countries in which to live!

Would have thought you would have researched that already. The Canadians only let in skilled people they need and then you are restricted to work in a particular state. I would suggest you see if you even qualify to go. I have attached a points calculator.
