Which is the best university in the UK for languages?

Question to the people from the UK?

  • How is the Life in the UK? Look I live in Mexico, and sometimes ive thought about going to work to Europe. I have Spanish ascendence, but I dont have the Nationality, so..thats a problem. However, i investigated, and I heard several comment about a Crisis in Spain... Mexico is a Fantastic Country, and really Cheap... But theres a Big Problem: In Mexico City theres no Job, in various parts of Mexico theres Job, but with a really little pay...Unless you have high rank studies Im currently studying, and Im 18 years Old. I really want to make a Career in Bussines Administration, but here the Universities are Really Expensive, you must have a lot of Money, and a half time job in a starbucks isnt Enough... Mexico is the Best Country for starting a Self Bussines, like a CofeeShop, or a Food Bussiness. Here u can start a bussines with $150, 000 pesos= like 9, 000 Euros = 12, 500 Dollars (Type of Change: 1 Euro = 16.50 pesos, 1 Dollar = 12 Pesos) Here in a Starbucks, wich is the best paid job for my Age the pay is $ 4, 000 pesos, per Month Wich is: like 243 Euros......A ****.... Regardless about the fact that theres no job... So i Need a greater income, to pay my University... I heard several stories of people wich save some Money, migrating to an another richer country. I know theres the US next to Mexico, but beaucuse of the inmigration problem, the racism, and segregation is a really big Problem, so the US isnt a good choice. I wanted to emigrate to Spain, but they say theres a horrible economical situation there... And I just want Information from people of the UK to tell me: Is it hard to Find a Job there? How is the People? (Nice? kind?) Wich is a Normal Pay for my Age? Is it expensive the food and rental? They have Migration Problems? What do I need to Migrate? I have white skin and clear eyes, and im very kind, so i dont think i will have problems with racist people.... Im really really Good at Arithmetics and Logic...And im used to hard work. Im really noble and honest guy, i would never steal lie or cheat someone Im really really good handling foreign languages. I just want to get a job there, to save some Euros, and return to Mexico to put a Bussines Theres a Bussines planned (I studied it and is secure to be a succes) but i need money to stablish it... Putting this Bussines is my Only chance, to pay me a good and prestigious University...My family cant afford it...But im ready to fight for it... Theres public Universities....But for the career i want, doesnt even exist at the public Universities Sorry for Bothering And thank you very Much for your Time :) Every information is precious to me Have a nice Day

Unemployment isn't good at the minute in the UK. Lots of places that are normally relatively safe places to work are getting rid of jobs. However, if you're determined you could get lucky. There are three levels of minimum wage, and the rates from 1 October 2009 are: * £5.80 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older * a development rate of £4.83 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive * £3.57 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age (£1 = $1.54 or €1.2 or 20.19 Mexican pesos) I don't think racism is too bad, but obviously, it depends on where you were to go. London is the most expensive place to live in Britain. It's cheaper in the North. I don't know how it compares to prices in Mexico, I'm afraid. While we're not in a recession any more things still aren't brilliant with lots of cutbacks still to come. As for the people, I think we're nice! People tend to be friendlier in villages than cities, but that's probably true in any country. Having said that attitudes toward immigration are becoming more conservative, with more people worrying about immigrants taking jobs, etc. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

as far as i'm concerned it is VERY hard to find a job here. the people are alright. some people are kind and some people are mean. Personally ( my opinion) racism is okay here. :)

Do not bother to come here, as first of all we have no jobs, very little housing, as building has stopped, and no prospects whatsoever.

The life in the uk is not that good it's boring

Immigration has made the UK about the most overpopulated country on Earth. We have far too many immigrants, the situation is becoming intolerable. London is unrecognisable by the people, only the buildings look like London today, the people are Asian, ,African, E European, Forget the Britain of a few years ago it no longer exists. This is no bland political statement, scientific analysis says the UK is overpopulated, see the link below :

The UK is a very expensive place to live and not especially welcoming to immigrants, who frequently end up being exploited. Generally the only work you'll get is something really crappy like cleaning or something, unless you happen to be very well qualified. Nevertheless this is still a wealthy country, and the opportunities are there if you're smart and you work very hard. Also, although I mentioned that immigrants aren't exactly embraced, you will still as a Mexican encounter a lot less discrimination than you would in the US. Generally though you'd spend most of your times hanging out with other foreigners. You might have trouble getting a work visa, that's probably your biggest hurdle. I don't know much about it. However if you do get here you shouldn't have a problem finding a basic job, as long as you put together a good CV/resume, have a good attitude and speak decent English. You could maybe work in Starbucks or something; that would of course be great experience if you're planning on setting up something like that at home. If you're prepared to work your *** off, live somewhere pretty basic and not live too extravagantly, you should be able to save more than enough money to start a business when you get back. As far as costs go, this is a rough guide: At the age of 18 the minimum you can legally be paid is £4.83 per hour. You're unlikely to get much more unless, as I say, you have great qualifications or experience. Say you work a typical 40 hour week, plus maybe 10 hours overtime, that's around £1000 a month. I don't know how much tax you'd pay, but at a guess maybe 20%. That leaves you with £800. £800 is 16,000 pesos! Sound good? Not really. The cost of living is very, very high. In London especially you'd be doing well finding somewhere to live for less than £350 a month (that's for a basic single room in a shared house). Travel by public transport could easily cost £100 or more per month, plus things like food and toiletries are much, much more expensive than in Mexico. Nevertheless, you could probably save a couple of hundred pounds a month if you live very frugally. At that rate, by my reckoning, it would take around three years to save enough money to start a business back in Mexico. Good luck!
