• hi,i am leaving in India and my girl friend is living in Melbourne(Australia).she is an overseas student there.in march 2011,her study visa is about to expire and she intends to extend visa by taking admission in new course.,we want to marry and i want to go there on spouse visa. now i want to know the procedure.that how i can go to Australia.what types of paper formalities are there.where to start the procedure.how much time it will take.should we have to show money(as both we are from India)what papers i we need. i would be grateful to you

  If her new course is for 12 months or longer, you can be included on her Student visa application as a dependent - she will know what is basically required having already been through the procedure before. She will have to show additional financial resources to cover you. You must provide a certified copy of your passport, passport style photographs, a certified copy of your birth certificate and a certified marriage certificate. You will also be required to have a medical and submit police checks but your Case Officer will advise what is required and when.
