As a PR worker what do you do?

How long does it take to prococess PR aplication in Canada? - skilled worker?

  • How long does it take to prococess PR aplication in Canada? - skilled worker class, I worked here for 6 months alreday. I only get 1 year contract, it may extened. I am not sure.

  • Answer:

If you are on a work permit you are not eligible to apply for PR status until you have worked in Canada for 2 full years (getting an extension if the employer asks for it). After you have done 2 years of work, THEN you can apply for PR and continue working on the work permit (getting it extended every year). The processing for PR is currently taking another 2 years so it may take as much as 4 years altogether to get PR status.
