What rights would I have as a EU citizen?

How long until EU citizen (British) can apply for Spanish citizenship?

• So... I'd like to know for how long an EU citizen - in my case, British passport holder - has to be a resident of Spain before they're eligible to apply for Spanish citizenship. Please refrain from making obvious points, such as the fact that I'd gain very little by becoming a citizen of Spain (equal rights in the EU and so on)! I'm also aware of the fact that it would be possible that I'd have to renounce my British citizenship, yes; that's something that I'd be willing to do.
