How long will it take to get my korean visa?

How long does it take to get the visa fees or how long will the visa process take?

  • i received my I-797 notice of action on I-130 petition on 2/10/12, how long will it take to received any further notice or what's the next step. my wife is in the philippines.

    it generally takes about 6 molths for USCIS to actually process and approve the petition and then send it on to the National Visa Center. so, somewhere down the road, USCIS will let you know when your petition has been approved, and you should hear from the NVC shortly after that. however, it can take the NVC a few more months to contact you, get the stuff from you they need and then set your wife up for an interview. according to the embassy website, www.manila.usembassy.gov, it takes 3-5 months to get an appointment once everything is ready. so, figure at least a year from the time you filed.

About 5 to 6 months later USCIS approves Then Department of State's National Visa Center, NVC, will contact you for additional application fees, and for you to submit to them a 'mini petition' with your spouses original documents. Once NVC has completed their processing, about 3 to 6 months later, they pass the case to Manila. Then your spouse is asked to attend an interview ( one or two months later) and her visa will be granted or denied. If granted, she can begin her travel to the USA.
