Is a career in dentistry satisfying?

Is Dentistry a good career if you plan to emigrate to the USA? or anywhere else?

  • Hi :) so I live in Scotland in the UK and will be applying to university very soon, and have the option to study Dentistry. In the future I really hope to emigrate elsewhere, preferably to the USA, but possibly Canada or Australia. I know that you are required to have a degree and possibly some experience in order to be eligible for immigration to these places, and so I was wondering if a degree in Dentistry is a good pathway. Is it? It's a very respectable job, and we are always going to have teeth, therefore we will always need dentists. When it comes to immigration the receiving country is always looking for someone with skills that are in high demand, so is Dentistry something that say, the USA would be looking for? It is not long before I decide on which courses to apply for at university, so I am just asking around. If I don't study Dentistry, it may be a completely different career path. PS. I am not just using yahoo!answers, I am just looking for opinions from different people, and I will appreciate any information, or advice :) Thank you.
