How to get a sponsor?

How Can You Get A Job? - For Sponsor/Visa? - Go There?

  • Ok. I'm trying to get back to work for Walt Disney World - still waiting on them getting back to me. But if they can't help, how can I get another job? I'm 23, I have graduated university with a Bachelor Of Art in Cinema. Where I'm from is a very small town in Scotland, so there's not "media" jobs. I worked for WDW for 6 months on their International College Program, and the jobs I've had in the past have been retails and customers services. Now if I wanted to get a job, to get a sponsor, to get a visa - how would someone from the UK go about this? Look for jobs via the internet? - is there specific site for people who need a sponsor? Go there on a tourist visa and look, but then eventually leave, obviously. Thanks for any help.

  • Answer:

You would need H-1B visa sponsorship from the company in order to work legally for WDW. H-1B sponsorship is sometimes hard to get, but it is easier if you are here in the country already (on like a J-1 or F-1 student visa) sometimes. I would just apply and check on the online application that you are seeking visa sponsorship. The worst they could say is no, and you would have to look elsewhere. If you could then cover the issue in the cover letter, perhaps noting that you know you need visa sponsorship but emphasizing how this is a specialized position and that you are worthy of it, the chances of you getting the interview and the job will increase.
