How do you like this Sheriff Joe’s ‘Tent City’ gets McDonald’s-like Number ‘Served’ Sign?
-
Inspired by McDonald's, the sheriff of Arizona's Maricopa County on Monday had a sign made that touts the fact that more than 430,000 inmates have been "served" by his controversial "Tent City" jail. "Why would anyone call for an end to this program and the closure of Tent City?" Sheriff Joe Arpaio said in a statement announcing the sign. "Tent City makes room for inmates who otherwise might be released to the streets due to overcrowded jails. It’s one of the best things to have happened in the local criminal justice system." "Borrowing from the world’s most renowned fast food chain," the department added, the sign will be updated monthly with the latest number of inmates "Served". Arpaio, renowned for his tough stand on illegal immigrants, had the sign built "to underscore that Tent City remains an excellent facility to safely and cost effectively house inmates," the department stated. It’s such an efficient program, Arpaio points out, that it has been visited by four U.S. presidential candidates and a number of senators from several states. More than 430,000 inmates have "served" their time in Tent City, which began in 1993 and is made up of Korean War tents, the department said. “It’s 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they did not commit any crimes, so shut your d@mned mouths!” Amen to that. And while much of the publicity around Tent City is entertaining, what is little known by most Americans is just how much of the dirty work of immigration enforcement is completed by Arpaio and his deputies each year. Arpaio’s office — in a single county — apprehends a staggering 25% of all criminal illegal aliens in the entire United States every year. That means he doesn’t just keep illegal alien criminals out of Arizona cities, but since Arizona is the gateway for illegal entry into the U.S., he also keeps them from threatening Americans from coast to coast. For example, two weeks ago Arpaio’s detectives apprehended 20 illegals being smuggled through Maricopa — including one wanted on an outstanding felony warrant in Oregon. All 20 of the captured illegals were headed to states other than Arizona. So the next time you see a photo of inmates inside Tent City in their pink underwear, remember that he is there because Joe kept him from getting to a town near you — and send him a thank you email to let him know you appreciate it.

Answer:
I live in Ca. and I wish we had a tent city... We got plenty of desert and plenty of criminals... But the liberals in Ca won't do what's best for the State or the people and the sheeple keep voting them into office. Those same sheeple are a jury of my peers. Scary.

I see nothing wrong with it, Joe's programs work well. I know a guy that brags about all the places he has been in jail at and after his time in tent city he will no longer enter maracopa county.
