How old do you have to be to work at Sweet Tomatoes?

How many americans would work in the farms for $4.00 picking onions, or tomatoes?

  • Did you that there was fliers put in the welfare office in Pueblo Colorado saying free food come and pick it your self 1 individual showed up and that individual was a migrant not one American showed up even for free food and a little work. Americans want a hand out not a workout. The prisoners who work in the feilds are paid $4.00 an hr by the farmer the rest of what they are paid because they are paid over minimum wage comes out of our tax dollars and is paid to the prisons to provide housing and food for the prisoners.

    I would gladly pay more for them if I did not have to pay all the other bills that taxpayers are paying for now .. schools-- medical--- etc.. etc..

Well I am a teacher and have 3 months off in the summer and I like the outdoors. I actually do not mind being outside and doing labor. So, I would think about it.

All you have to do is cut the welfare, and they will go out and do it. So don't say we need illegals, we need welfare rats to do this work as a condition of their welfare

Actually I and a number of other students worked in the fields and packing sheds of Kern County California to get money for College. That was 40 years ago, however I would say that there are many students out there who would work in the fields to get money for College. You will find that the people are there who will work if given the opportunity.

Minimum wage is above 7 so if the dirt bag farmer actually hired a few Americans he might have to pay more but would keep more of his crop. If he cant find anyone to do then he should try raising wages.

I don't understand. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 and you are saying that $4.00 is more than that. Change the question to $7.25 and the answers might change.

I am an American citizen. I would expect and deserve at least minimum wage...as it is the law.
