Unemployment Benefits after a temp job?

Can I continue Unemployment benefits if I do not accept offer to extend temp job?

  • I have been collecting Unemployment benefits for a few months and the only thing that came up was a temporary job for one month directly with a company (not a temp agency). My month is up with them December 2nd and it looks like they want to extend the job another month and maybe taking it on a month to month basis. Problem is that it is the most miserable job ever. Not the job duties but the people there. I have nightmares and my blood pressure is out of control. I feel awful going there and want to just end my month and continue my unemployment and keep looking for a perm job at a good company. My fear is that I will be denied benefits for not continuing with this job. I do have the initial job offer that states it's only for a month. What can I do? Thanks

  • Answer:

It is possible that you will lose your right to unemployment benefits if you refuse to accept the work.
