What are the job requirements for a legal assistant in the UK?

I have just got my Indefinite leave to remain in UK, can I get a job as an Assistant Immigration Officer here?

  • I was a primary school teacher in India for 18 plus years and do have all the necessary communicating skills for the job. I love inter-acting with people from all walks of life.

  • Answer:

No,it would be like putting Billy Bunter in charge of the tuckshop,go home to your rising power with your space programme and fantastic social welfare programmes, leave that job to a British person.

https://nextstep.direct.gov.uk/PlanningYourCareer/JobProfiles/JobProfile1092/Pages/default.aspx For most jobs you will need to be between age 18 and 64½, and a British citizen with no restrictions on your stay in the UK (you will normally need to have lived in the UK for the last five years also). You will be security checked for all jobs.

Uncle

I think you have to have lived in the UK for 5 years, ask at your local job centre.
