How do you like being a lawyer?

My mom was deported like 2 yrs ago and i wanna get her her citizenship how can i do it do i need a lawyer?

  • she was scared into signing her deportation and she got deported for life we need her back here in the u.s how can i get her her citizenship

  • Answer:

that would depend on exactly why she was deported of course. if it was for some criminal conviction, it would also depend on exactly what her conviction was for. all felony convictions set up permanent ineligibilitites, but some can be waived and some can't. However, even if there is no criminal conviction, you'll probably find it very difficult to help her for at least another 8 years, even if you are a US citizen and over 21. if you filed an I-130 immigrant petition for her through USCIS, she'd be ineligible under 2 different legal bars, one for her deportation and the other for her illegal stay here. she could apply for a waiver for the deportation, but unless she has either a US citizen or green card holding spouse or parent, she would not be eligible to apply for a waiver for her illegal stay here. US law doesn't allow for that, even based on her relationship to you, and that ineligibility lasts for 10 years. check with a good immigration lawyer before getting started to make sure what your options really are at this point in time. you haven't told us enough for anyone to really say what her situation is. everyone here is just guessing based on what little you've told us.

Deported with a lifetime bar? Then there is NO way she is ever returning to the US. If she ever attempts to reenter, she is subject to 20 years in prison, then deportation with permanent bar to reentry. Do not attempt to get your mother into the US under any circumstances whatsoever. You have a right to citizenship in her country of citizenship as a birthright. You can go there at any time for any length of time, or live there permanently. She should have gotten you a passport from her country of citizenship so you can join her there.

You can't get her back. If you really loved her, you would go and live with her in her country. If my mom was sent out of the country I would go with her in a heartbeat. But since you don't, you will let her sit there by herself and pretend the law will magically change so she can come back. Its really sickening to be honest.

You can't. What about "deported for life" do you not understand? She will never be allowed back. If she was deported for life, she must have committed a serious crime.

Yes, of course you need a lawyer. This area of law is not a DIY matter. But since your mother received a lifetime ban, she is not coming back, with a lawyer or without. Not sure why you would want her back. She is obviously a felon, or this would not have happened to her. Why would you want a felon for a mother? If you really do want to be raised by a felon, you can go to live with her in her country.

She must have committed a serious crime to be ban for life, was it drug conviction? anyway, I know how you feel having your mother away and the fact that you will never see her again unless you go and see her is really frustrating and scary but the law is the law, you break it, you pay. There is nothing you can do to bring her here. You might want to immigrate to another country (except Canada, she won't be allowed there either) and petition her there unless you want to move to her country. Anyway, best of luck!

What citizenship? Your mother was deported that is the end of it. She was not eligible for citizenship. She is banned for life. If you are talking about her home country citizenship? Get in touch with her. An Attorney will not be able to help, she has a life ban.
