In a Sponsorship from outside Canada, How long does it take for Quebec MICC to reply about my application?
-
My husband who's a canadian citizen applied for me for a sponsorship from outside Canada to come & live with him in Quebec. We sent the documents acquired to CIC Citizen & Immigration Canada, it was expected that they would reply in 35 days to our application but instead they replied in 10 days and the decision was made. This is the information I found about my application online: Status of your application Explanation IN PROCESS (A decision has not been made yet.) : 1) Application Received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) 2) We have received your application and will review it in order of receipt. We will send you an acknowledgement letter. 3) Documentation Verified by CIC 4) We are reviewing your application to make sure it is complete and that no documents are missing. We will return incomplete applications for resubmission. 5) Sponsor Advised of Eligibility 6) We are reviewing your application to make sure you meet the CIC requirements for sponsoring a member of the family class. 7) CIC Forwards Sponsorship Application to MICC We will send your sponsorship application to the Ministère de l''Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC). They will send you forms for completion. Return the completed forms to MICC (some must be signed by the person you are sponsoring), along with the necessary supporting documents and applicable fees. DECISION MADE (A decision has been made at this point.): 1) Sponsor and Visa Office Advised of Decision Made 2) If MICC approves your Undertaking, you will receive copies of your accepted application form. MICC will tell you what to do next. 3) If MICC rejects your Undertaking, they will inform you. You will have an opportunity to appeal this decision. So my question is, how long will it take for the MICC to reply with anything about my file which they received a week ago? And What they might reply with? This will affect so much the planing of the coming time?

Answer:
The only decision that CIC made at this point was that your spouse was approved to be your sponsor. You still have a long way to go. You need to fill in all the forms they sent you, and pay the fees, send them back and wait for more forms. When they send you more forms, you fill those in and send them back. DO NOT look for any fast response. There are thousands of applications ahead of yours. All applications are dealt with on a first come first served basis. You are looking at a time line of at least 12 to 18 months.
