Want to bring my wife from Thailand: K-3 or immigration visa?

Immigration questions?

  • me and my wife just had an interview with the immigration, it was for my petition. my wife is a us citizen and as for me i have a visa.my visa doesnt expire till 2013 and we got married oct 2008,i live in the west coast and her in the east so eventually she came back to the east for her to fix her job ge an apt. and for me to move there but then she got laid off so she just decided to live in ca. she was in nj for 1 month. on the day of the interview we forgot to bring a verification letter from the bank that we have a joint account, so she told us to come back after we have obtained what she needed. but before that when she was interviewing us she didnt ask those personal questions, she was just going through the thick folder of papers containing the petition our names and such as. she did ask me and my wife our names and checked the paper, so i guess she was just making sure they were correct. she asked when was the wedding and who was there where was i born etc. but no questions such as, what did you give her for xmas, does she snore etc. So after that she told us to come back and give her the letter from the bank. we did give her the letter explaining that we had a joint account. she took my tax records which had another address which was my side of the family address, she asked and i told her that eversince i moved here me and my husband som etimes sleep back and forth on his side and mine since he is a only child and i am too, its not a burden for our families. so after giving her the letter we both waited for her to give us we were approved but she told us "thank you that was all i needed and if i need anything else i would write you" so eventually when we got home some people told us that they may be in doubt or maybe they'll send the letter in the mail saying we were approved. i dont know if they would investigate or come to our house or whatever. but for me it was so unfair because she didnt ask how we met or even some stuff that would convince her we do love each other. me and my wife were together eversince kindergarten and it wa in h.s. that we really fell for each other in our home country our fasmilies belonged to an upper class such as politicians bussiness owners etc. which was the reason we were separated cause she went to study here in america. we met each other again here when i visited my family but before that we always chat and we always had news about each other since we had the same friends. after being married to her we ot pregnant but lost the baby 2 weeks after the interview. we had all the paper works and proof but the lady didnt ask us any of these. i didnt want to say it to her without her asking since it was rude. i dont know whats going to happen do you think she has a doubt?

  • Answer:

my friend went on an interview with her husband like 2 years ago and they were not asked personal questions either but they were approved. i wouldn't worry about it too much.
