What do U think of ICE arrests drug felon who tried to get public aid for kids why wouldnt they come 2 door ?

  • ANAHEIM - An undocumented immigrant's inquiry into public assistance for his child culminated in his arrest early Monday on the west side of the city. Officials say they discovered that he'd re-entered the country illegally after he was convicted on several drug charges in the 80s and 90s, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents reported. Julio Cruz-Real, of Guerrero, Mexico, could face several years in prison if convicted of re-entering the country illegally after he was deported, ICE officials reported. ICE agents descended on the 1800 block of Greenleaf Ave. handling guns and in full uniform at about 6 a.m. after receiving a tip and performing surveillance of the home he was suspected of staying at, ICE officials reported. “This was not just a random enforcement action,” ICE spokeswoman Virginia Kice said. She added that ICE officials are increasingly targeting dangerous illegal immigrants. During a phone interview, Celia Alonso, Cruz-Real's wife, said that the family was asleep when ICE agents knocked on the door in the morning. She said the agents said they were looking for a Juan Gomez and since no one with that name resides there, the family didn't open the door. After ICE agents got a warrant, at around 11 a.m., Alonso said the agents came in yelling orders that everyone should drop to the floor and that everyone inside complied: herself, her husband, her three children ages 5, 14 and 17, her adult son and his wife, her twenty-something nephew and her grandchildren ages 2 and 7. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/anaheim-agents-family-2291280-alonso-ice

  • Answer:

I feel bad for the kids but it's the parent's own fault. He shouldn't have entered the country illegally. I'm sick and tired of illegal immigrants whining and crying then getting their way. If you want to be a US citizen that's awesome, come on in, but do it properly and follow the law, don't come into this country illegally. Do you know how much money the US loses on illegal immigrants every year? They skip out on their taxes and use our resources. It's not fair. I was born here, I've paid my dues, I pay my taxes, and if I want to move to another country and some point I will go about it legally rather than breaking that country's laws. The only thing I don't get is why they are just going to put him in prison. All that means is that more of our tax money is paying to keep him behind bars. Just send him back to where he came from.

It's great he was arrested and will, eventually, be deported. It sucks that US taxpayers will be stuck paying his legal fees and incarceration costs.

It is always good when government agencies follow the law and their purpose. It is sad that now taxpayers will have to pay for his defense and costs as well as his children's. I am surprised that this happened in California, I guess their state being on the edge of bankruptcy maybe has made them open their eyes on how to cut expenses.

How many times do we have to flush before they go away? YO TONY! what does La Ratzo have to say about this, and the thousands of other cases just like it?

This is great! The government should be doing more of this. If they do not want to have this happen again then come to this country legally and do not have children if they are poor. If that means not having sex then so be it. What about the children's well being and future? These people are always putting their children in harms way.

Keep up the good work, ICE. All public service workers should be required to check the status of applicants for public aid. All police should be required to check the status of any suspect or arrested person. When illegal status is determined, they should all have to report to ICE.
