How long can I stay in Canada if I fly in from the US?

How long can I stay in Canada?

  • I've read some website saying - During the processing time of the immigration (my husband is sporsoning me), I can stay in Canada. Does anyone heard about something like this? If so, should I do anything about it? If not, I know I can simply stay in canada as a visitor with a limited time which is 3 -6 months. If I would like to extend my stay in Canada. Should I honestly tell the officer the reason I want to stay longer is "because I want to stay with my husband?" And I can show them I have a valid ticket with a fix date to return to Hong Kong?

  • Answer:

where are you know ? if you are already in Canada just stay there and don't worry about thing... if you are outside then you must wait until your sponsorship papers get processed... once you filled an immigration petition you can't really use a tourist visa anymore...

I think it is suggested that you stay in Canada until you become annoying then you are allowed to return to your own country.

Well if you're a visitor then you can stay as long as your visa is good but if you're a full citizen then as long as you want really.
