Me Indian citizen Hindu my fiancée Australian citizen Hindu & OCI. By which Marriage Act can we register?

  • I am an Indian citizen (Bengali Hindu) and my fiancée an Australian citizen (Bengali Hindu) and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India), got engaged in May'10 and have decided to get married in Kolkata on November'10 and subsequently we have decided that we will settle in Australia. Both my partner and I, with full consent and support from our families are getting married in Kolkata, India on November 22nd 2010, and register it under the Hindu Marriage Act. My fiancée has her own ancestral property in Kolkata and visit every year. a) Will this marriage and the certificate be valid for my visa application? b) Should we go for the Hindu Marriage Act or the Special Marriage Act? What is the requirement? c) What documents do I (the visa applicant) need to submit regarding this? d) What documents does my fiancée need to get married in Kolkata India?
